There are a variety of ways to express one’s love towards Our Lord’s Sacred Heart.
The Tradition of the Church has passed down to us many different public expressions of love and devotion towards the Sacred Heart.
There are prayers which may be offered throughout the day.
There are devotions which we can participate in so as to give testimony to our faith in and our dependence upon Our Lord.
Then there are special days, specifically the First Friday of the Month, during which Our Lord has offered us special graces should we dedicate those days to giving Him proper homage.
Day to Day ways to live out devotion to the Sacred Heart
By being in Eucharistic Communion with the Catholic Church through participation in Sunday Mass and holy days off obligation.
By often receiving Jesus in Holy Communion especially First Friday.
By spending time adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
By gathering together before the Image of Our Lord’s Sacred Heart to pray morning and evening prayer, read Sacred Scripture, pray the Rosary, to speak heart to heart with Jesus.
By coming before the Image to involve Jesus in your joys and sorrows and ask His advice in family decisions, disputes or problems.
By being open to forgiving and forgiveness and by receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation monthly if possible.
Offering sacrifices for reparation of sin.
Living the Sacred Heart
The Holy Eucharist is the center of the Christian Life, it is the source and summit of our Christian Faith. Throughout the history of the Church, whenever there has been a Eucharistic miracle, the matter of the Eucharist has always been scientifically found to be muscle tissue from the Heart. The Holy Eucharist is the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, therefore in Adoring the Blessed Sacrament, the Holy Eucharist, we are then Adoring the Heart of Jesus the Christ.
Often times when an individual or family has participated in the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart an awakening occurs within them to continue on the path of drawing ever more close to Our Lord. One of the best ways is to spend time in Adoration of the Holy Eucharist.
