Common Questions & Answers on Enthronement

Do you need to be “Holy” to have your home Enthroned to the Sacred Heart?

Nope, just a valid marriage, one parent do desires it and the overall desire to do the will of God in your life! Jesus says in Matthew 7: 7-8 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Jesus wants us to seek Him out and we will be amazed at the life he can offer us!

What if my children are young and have a hard time sitting still or praying?

The goal of this devotion is to welcome Christ into your heart and home, Christ is always there for us and wants to meet us where we are at and lead us. How your children behave does not prevent the Enthronement from taking place.

What if my teens or family members are not practicing the faith?

We learn in the promises that “I will bless the homes in which the Image of My Sacred Heart shall be exposed and honored.” Even if not all the members are practicing the Catholic faith all are blessed when the parents or head of the household decide to Enthrone Jesus as King, Savior and Friend.

What if I do not have a missionary where I live?

No problem, just order a self-enthronement kit and we can walk you through the process. The Missionaries of the Sacred Heart are there to walk the family or individual through the process of Enthronement. Consider asking your local parish priest to join your family for this special event and or get the images Blessed ahead of time.

Why do I need to Enthrone an Image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in my home?

  • The request is directly from Jesus Himself. He told St. Margaret Mary of Alacoque that He would bless each home where a picture of His Sacred Heart is exposed and honored.
  • As the family/household receives Jesus in the Eucharist at Holy Mass, Jesus desires through His Image to remain present spiritually in their home, “the domestic church.”
  • The Image of the Sacred Heart is more than just a picture. It is meant to draw us toward God and enlighten our soul with Divine Truths.
